Outlook

Use Delos as an Outlook add-in to interact with your emails using natural language.

Prerequisites

Have a Delos account with credits.

Activate the add-in

From the Delos homepage, click on the button with the Outlook logo in the header. A window opens to introduce the add-in. Click on "Install Outlook extension". You will be redirected to the Microsoft marketplace. Click on "Get it now": the add-in will then be available in the "Add-ins" tab of your Outlook. On first opening, the add-in presents you with a login page that takes you to log in to your Delos account. Then accept access to your account by Delos for Outlook. Next, a connection to your Outlook account is proposed. If you decline, the add-in will still work, but it will be limited to actions in the currently open email. With the Outlook account connection, the add-in has broader capabilities: search through emails, find contacts, suggest meeting times based on your agenda and others' (if they are in your organization), move emails to folders... We offer a default App Registration to enable all these permissions, but if you prefer, you can also add your own app for better control of the permissions. You can also remove certain permissions from our application in your Azure portal. Finally, the add-in offers to capture your writing style. It will analyze your recently sent emails and create a clear and detailed description that it will use to draft emails on your behalf. You can adjust it according to your preferences.

What you can do with the add-in

The Delos for Outlook add-in allows you to interact with your emails using natural language, directly from Outlook's sidebar. A few examples of features available with the add-in:

  • Reading the open email — the agent reads the email or conversation thread displayed on screen (subject, sender, recipients, body, attachments) to understand your context
  • Drafting replies — reply, reply all, or compose a new message; the agent pre-fills Outlook's reply form directly with a complete draft. The agent never sends the email unless you explicitly ask it to
  • Summarizing conversation threads — summarize an email or thread in a few key points and highlight any action items
  • Improving and rewriting drafts — rewrite the body of your email to make it clearer and more professional while preserving your intention
  • Email translation — translate an email body into another language

With Microsoft account connection

By connecting your Microsoft account (via the integrations selector), the agent has direct access to your mailbox and calendar:

  • Capturing your writing style — the agent can analyze your recently sent emails to learn your tone, polite formulas and style, then draft replies that sound like you
  • Mailbox management — list emails from a folder (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, etc.), search emails by keywords, read a specific email, list your folders and move emails
  • Calendar management — list your events over a period, create/modify/delete events (with participants, location, description and Teams meeting link), check availability and find common time slots for multiple people
  • People search — find a person by name or email (with job title and company) to identify the right recipients without guessing addresses

Connection to Delos documents and contacts

  • Connection to Delos documents — the agent can search for content in Docs (PDF, Word, Excel, images, as well as native Cosmos documents) and attach these files directly to your emails
  • Attachments — list attachments from an email, or attach a file from the Delos library or a URL
  • Contacts (Delos CRM) — search in the directory, view contact details, create, modify or delete a contact, and add notes (e.g. a summary of what you discussed with the sender)

Cross-functional features

  • Clickable links to cited emails — when the agent cites an email in its responses, the link opens the corresponding message directly in Outlook
  • File upload — PDF, Word, Excel, CSV directly in the chat to provide additional context to the agent
  • Web search — the agent can search the Internet and read web pages
  • Personal memory — the agent can retain information (preferences, contacts, knowledge) on request and remember it across conversations
  • Context understanding — the agent automatically detects the open email or draft and adapts its responses, both in reading and writing mode
  • Native audit trail — all your interactions are recorded for complete traceability

Additional Features
