Assistant: mathematical and chemical formulas not preserved in PDF export

When exporting a document from the Assistant as a PDF, mathematical and chemical formulas (LaTeX notation) may not be correctly preserved.

Symptoms

• LaTeX formulas (e.g: $$\text{H}_2\text{O}$$) display correctly in the Assistant
• But after PDF export, formulas appear degraded or unreadable

Solutions

1. Export as DOCX instead of PDF: the DOCX format better preserves formulas. You can then convert the DOCX to PDF with an external tool (LibreOffice, Word).
2. Copy manually: copy formulas from the Assistant and paste them into an external editor that supports LaTeX.
3. Use Scribe: create a Scribe document with the formulas, then export it. Scribe may handle complex formula rendering better.

Known limitation

Delos's PDF rendering engine does not yet fully support LaTeX notation. This is a known issue and an improvement is being considered.
