Use Delos as an Excel add-in to interact with your spreadsheets using natural language.

Prerequisites

Have a Delos account with credits.

Activate the add-in

From the Delos homepage, click on the button with the Excel logo in the header. A window opens to introduce the add-in. Click on "Install Excel extension". You will be redirected to the Microsoft marketplace. Click on "Get it now": the add-in will then be available in the "Add-ins" tab of your Excel. On first opening, the add-in presents you with a login page that takes you to log in to your Delos account. Then accept access to your account by Delos for Excel.

What you can do with the add-in

The Delos for Excel add-in allows you to interact with your Excel spreadsheet using natural language. A few examples of features available with the add-in:

  • Read/write cells — read ranges, write values (existing formula protection), write formulas
  • Sheet management — create, rename, delete, duplicate worksheets
  • Automatic and on-demand formatting — bold, italic, colors, borders, alignment, number formats, cell merging
  • Sort & filters — sort data, apply filters to columns
  • Error detection — automatic scan of #REF!, #VALUE!, etc. with localization of faulty cells
  • Cleanup — clear ranges (content, formats, or all), auto-resize columns
  • Connection to Delos documents — the agent can search for content in Docs, and read then integrate content from PDF, Word, Excel, CSV directly from the Excel chat
  • Chart creation — select cells and create charts (histogram, line, pie, bar, area, scatter, doughnut) with positioning, size, axis titles
  • Advanced prompt suggestions — Budget Planning, Dashboard, KPI, DCF Analysis (financial valuation) — the agent is guided to create complete multi-sheet financial models
  • Cell reference linking — references like "A1" in the agent's responses become clickable links that navigate directly to the cell in Excel
  • File upload — PDF, Word, Excel, CSV directly in the chat
  • Spreadsheet comprehension — The agent automatically analyzes your workbook and adapts its responses to your context
  • Instant formatting — Convert your data into elegant and professional tables
  • Native audit trail — All your interactions are recorded for complete traceability

Additional Features

In the add-in header, you have access to several options:

Choose your Delos account / organization to log in to

Allows you to find documents available in Docs on Personal or Professional account ### Return to your old discussions A conversation history is available to track all your exchanges with the assistant ### In the Settings page, several options available: - Instructions: give context, additional instructions to your agent (e.g. always write prices in €; put all the cells you modify with a blue background) - Session logging: when enabled, your agent will keep a log sheet available next to your spreadsheets, it will record the actions it performed each time it modifies elements on your spreadsheets. It can also read it at the start of each conversation to have the context of modifications made to the spreadsheet - Change the language of the add-in ### Create a new discussion When you create a new discussion, the agent's context starts from 0, unless you have enabled Session logging, which allows the agent to read the modifications made to the spreadsheet Feel free to submit your suggestions for evolution of the add-in!
