Understanding source attribution in Scribe
How Scribe attributes sources to generated content.
How Attribution Works
Scribe automatically attributes sources to content based on:
- Uploaded and analyzed documents
- Web searches performed
- References cited in your prompts
If Sources Seem Incorrect
Check source documents
- Ensure the right documents are attached
- Remove irrelevant documents
- Reorganize your collections
Clarify your instructions
- Explicitly indicate which sources to use
- Mention documents by name
- Ask Scribe to cite precisely
Check images and illustrations
- Images may be attributed to the source document
- If an image comes from another document, Scribe may err
- Manually verify image attributions
Regenerate content
- Delete problematic content
- Rephrase your request more precisely
- Check new attributions
If the issue persists, report it to support with specific examples.
