File formats and limits for Trad

The Delos Trad application supports a wide range of formats, but some limits apply.

Supported formats

• Text documents (.docx, .txt, .md, selectable text PDF)
• Presentations (.pptx)
• Subtitles (.srt, .vtt)
• Web (.html, .xml)

Limits to know

• Maximum size 20 MB per file
• Text volume 50,000 words maximum per file
• Scanned PDFs not supported (use OCR beforehand)
• Protected files (password-protected or DRM documents cannot be processed)
• Languages 30+ language pairs supported (rare languages may have reduced quality)

Best practices

• Split large documents into segments of less than 50,000 words
• Prefer native formats (.docx, .pptx) over PDFs for better precision
• Verify translation quality on an excerpt before launching the full file
