Workers on Delos
What is an agent?
An agent (or Worker) is a specialized AI assistant pre-configured for a specific role, task, or area of expertise. Unlike the general Assistant, an agent has:
- A custom system prompt that defines its role and behavior
- Specific instructions tailored to its mission
- Access to reference documents (knowledge base)
- Capabilities enabled or disabled according to its needs
Why use agents?
Targeted expertise
A marketing agent knows your editorial charter, personas, and tone of voice. It produces content aligned with your strategy without you having to repeat the context.
Time savings
No need to give detailed instructions for each conversation. The agent already knows what's expected.
Consistency
All team members using the same agent get consistent answers based on the same references.
Specialization
A technical support agent won't do marketing. A legal agent won't write code. Each agent stays in its area of expertise.
Anatomy of an agent
1. Basic information
- Name: the agent's name (e.g., "Support Agent", "Marketing Manager")
- Description: what the agent does and for whom
- Avatar: image or emoji representing the agent
- Color: agent's identification color in the interface
2. System prompt (Instructions)
This is the agent's brain. The system prompt defines:
- Its role: "You are a digital marketing expert specialized in B2B SaaS"
- Its behavior: "You respond concisely and actionably"
- Its constraints: "You never give legal advice"
- Its style: "You use a professional but accessible tone"
- Its methods: "You always structure your responses in 3 parts: context, solution, next steps"
The system prompt is invisible to the user but guides every agent response.
3. Reference documents
An agent can have access to a knowledge base composed of documents.
4. Enabled capabilities
Each agent can have access to different capabilities including applications, advanced tools, and integrations.
5. Agent memory
As with the Assistant, you can enable or disable memory for each agent.
Creating an agent
Creation steps
- Define the role: What is this agent's objective?
- Write instructions: How should it behave?
- Add documents: What knowledge should it have?
- Select capabilities: What tools should it be able to use?
- Configure memory: Should it access the user profile?
- Test: Verify the agent responds as expected
Sharing an agent
Agents can be personal (visible only to their creator), shared with a specific team, or accessible by all organization members.
Difference between Assistant and Agent
| Criteria | Assistant | Agent |
|---|---|---|

| Instructions | Delos default instructions | Custom instructions |

| Capabilities | All available capabilities | Selected capabilities |
| Usage | Varied questions, diverse tasks | Specific and repetitive tasks |
⚠️ Note: Workers are not yet available for all accounts and organizations. Contact support for more information.
Transfer a worker between organizations
A worker can be transferred from one organization to another while preserving its identity, memory and configuration (name, instructions, accumulated memory, skills).
Integrations may need to be reconfigured in the new organization. The transfer is done from the worker's profile in the Workers cockpit.
